Blue Ridge SIFE Team wins national championship - again
The award-winning Sife team from Blue Ridge is once again the USA National Campions for two-year colleges in 2008. This video, available on YouTube, highlights their achievements.

Dr. Brent Kendrick, professor of English at Lord Fairfax Community College (left) and Dr. Walerian Majewski, professor of physics at Northern Virginia Community College, were each honored Feb. 20 as recipients of the 2008 Outstanding Faculty Awards for excellence in teaching, research, knowledge integration and public service. They were among 12 faculty members from colleges and unviersities across the Commonwealth. For more information about these outstanding faculty, see the State Council for Higher Education website.

The Millenials (January 13-19) Mary Washko (J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College) is part of an innovative program that helps high school dropouts complete their education. She says that, like the character played by Will Smith in the hit movie, "Pursuit of Happiness," these young people face more daily challenges than most of us can imagine.
