Chancellor's Summer Tour for Great Expectations

We are pleased to announce the Chancellor's Summer Tour featuring Chancellor Glenn DuBois.

He's taking his personal vacation time June 27 - July 11 for a bicycle tour to Virginia's Community Colleges to spread the word about Great Expectations, a program to enable foster youth to successfully pursue postsecondary education and training.

About Great Expectations

The Virginia Foundation for Community College Education is implementing Great Expectations, a transitional education program to help teenagers in the foster care system.

Specific goals include:

To help youth complete high school and transition into higher education.

To increase awareness about the value of a community college education.

To increase enrollment in Independent Living Programs.

To increase the number of foster youth who gain employment in desirable jobs.

To pilot after school programs at all community colleges for younger foster care youth.
